Three Helopods are already in place. The rest should be set up in another week.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We can position these a little bit closer to areas where there aren\u2019t ponds, there aren\u2019t lakes, there aren\u2019t reservoirs, there&#8217;s not the Delta,&#8221; Zurflueh said.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>The Helopods are constantly being replenished with water. They&#8217;re hooked up to hoses connected to fire hydrants so they will never dry up.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Once it\u2019s done and off the ground, it\u2019s going to fill up within a minute and be ready for the next helicopter,&#8221; Zurflueh said.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>The Byron Helopod was successfully used on Sunday. It helped fire crews quickly put out a small grass fire on Vasco Road.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I see these greatly increasing the ability of us and Cal Fire to put out fires and protect life, property, and environment of the citizens of Contra Costa County,&#8221; Depolo said.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>via.
